Born 1966 in Buenos Aires, Argentinia
Karina Peisajovich works at the frontier where the specificity of the pictorial relinquishes its codes and traditions, and allows itself to be contaminated by other languages and mental processes.
Systems of light projections and moving images have been constant in her work since the late 90’s. She develops optical sensations that take over space and assert themselves in the eye of the observer.
Karina Peisajovich was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she now lives and works. She has been the recipient of many fellowships including: the Kuitca studio program, Bs. As. (1995), Art Omi, NY (1999), and the Fulbright Commission/ Fondo Nacional de las Artes Award, which allowed her to participate at the ISCP, International Studio and Curatorial Program in NYC ( 2001/2002).
She was a featured artist in the 7th Mercosur Biennial, Porto Alegre, Brasil (2009) and has shown in Galería Braga Menéndez Arte Contemporáneo, Bs. As. Argentina (2008), Malba Colección Constantini, Bs. As. Argentina (2006), VCU Anderson Gallery, Richmond, US, (2005), Lodz Biennale, Lodz, Poland (2004), and the Casa de América, Madrid, Spain (2002). Karina will have a solo show at Museo Experimental El Eco in Mexico City in 2010.
